AutoWeek написа:Under the gun
Three high-profile former Toyota Motorsport executives were implicated this week in an industrial espionage case involving the Ferrari and Toyota Formula One teams.
German state prosecutors formally accused former Toyota team principal Ove Andersson, chief designer Gustav Brunner and aerodynamics team leader René Hilhorst of infringing the nation’s fair competition laws by using computer software they knew had been stolen from Scuderia Ferrari. The material in question is understood to be CFD (computational fluid dynamics) source-code from Ferrari’s aerodynamic simulations.
A court in Köln will now decide whether the three must stand trial. In Italy meanwhile, a trial date of April 28 was set for engineers Mauro Iacconi and Angelo Santini. The two left Ferrari to join Toyota in 2000 and 2003, respectively, and face charges in Modena of gaining unauthorized access to Ferrari computers and misappropriating files.
More serious charges of smuggling confidential data abroad were dropped. None of the five accused still works in the Toyota Motorsport HQ in Köln, which was raided last year by German and Italian police.
